I’ve tried many vegan gravy recipes to finally figure out the perfect one. Many require chopping vegetables like garlic and onion, and they tasted alright, but take more effort. They also include butter, making the recipe not so healthy. I’m here to tell you you don’t need to chop garlic and onions or add butter to make your gravy taste good. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself!
Not only does this not require chopping vegetables, it’s made out of all shelf stable ingredients which you likely have in your pantry. Keep in mind, broths and amino’s need to be refrigerated after opening.
Healthy Vegan Gravy (Quick and Easy)
Equipment
- 1 Medium Sized Sauce Pan and whisk
Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 2 Tablespoons Nutritional Yeast
- 1 Tablespoon Coconut Aminos
- 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
- 1/2 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
- 1 1/4 Cup Vegetable Broth
- 1 1/4 Cup Mushroom Broth Or more Vegetable Broth
- Black Pepper to Taste
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a pot, whisk before heating.
- Turn to a medium to high heat and whisk periodically until thickened. This should only take a few minutes.
- Once thickened, serve and enjoy.
Notes
This recipe is oil free, dairy free, vegan, nut free, soy free, and gluten free making it extremely allergy friendly. Just be aware of coconut allergies, these recipe uses coconut aminos.
