- On this Fourth of July, if you live in the United States, it is likely you will be spending time celebrating our country’s independence, being outside with friends and family, gathering for a barbecue, watching fireworks, or relaxing on a refreshing body of water. Whatever your plans include, it is important to stay hydrated; That’s why I made this Cleansing Infused Independence Day Water.
- Staying hydrated is absolutely essential for life as every cell, organ, and system in your body requires it to function properly.
- Many forget that their skin is an organ; the largest of all organs. Like any organ, it is made up of cells that critically depend on water in order to fulfill its role.
- Sweating or drinking alcohol are one of many means in which your body requires more water than usual.
- I thought it would find a fun, creative way to help you and your friends make sure you are staying hydrated.
- Among the many benefits of Blue Matcha (Butterfly Pea Powder), and Beet Powder, the blue matcha helps helps to remove impurities, while the beet cleanses the blood.
- This water does not have any taste to it other than whatever fruit you may add. You do not taste the blue matcha or beet powder.
Ingredients:
- Water (Still or Sparkling)
- 1-2 Teaspoons of Butterfly Pea Powder/Blue Matcha
- 1-2 Teaspoons of Beet Powder
- Fresh Blueberries and Strawberries, and whatever extra fruit you like!
* I strongly recommend the Butterfly Pea Powder/Blue Matcha linked here. I usually always go for organic but the quality of this one is immense. You can tell they use the flower petals to make it very blue as opposed to drying the entire plant itself.
Method:
1.) First fill your ice cube tray with plain water so you know how much water to add. Pour the water from your ice cube tray to a bowl or blender.
2.) Add 1-2 Teaspoons of butterfly pea powder/blue matcha to your water depending on how blue you want your ice cubes. Whisk or blend, (I recommend blend) then pour the water back into your ice cube tray. Freeze.
3.) Repeat step 2 for your beet powder red ice cubes.
4.) Add your ice cubes to a water dispenser, add extra fruit if you would like, pour water over them, and enjoy!
