Equipment

  • 1 Wok or deep frying pan

Ingredients

  • 1 Block of Tofu Extra Firm (16 oz)
  • 2 Cups Frozen Broccoli

Orange Sauce

  • 1/4 Cup Liquid Aminos or soy sauce/tamari
  • 1/4 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Broth
  • 2 Tablespoons Agave
  • 2 Tablespoons Corn Starch
  • 2 Cloves Minced Garlic

Optional Toppings

  • White Sesame Seeds
  • Green Onion
  • Orange Zest

Instructions

  • Break apart your tofu into chunks. Spread tofu chunks on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Air fry at 400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes flipping halfway. You want the tofu crispy with slightly golden edges.
  • While cooking, start making your rice then add all remaining ingredients to a bowl and whisk until starch is broken apart.
  • Get a frying pan, and heat it up. Pour your mixture onto the pan before your cornstarch settles. Watch your sauce thicken and keep mixing until it turns nice and thick. Add some water to make it thinner if you desire. (You can steam your frozen broccoli in this sauce, or cook it separately).
  • When your tofu is done, add it to your orange sauce and toss until each chunk is coated in the sauce.
  • Once your Broccoli and orange tofu is done, add some rice to a bowl, top with your orange tofu, and add your broccoli to the bowl. Top with white sesame seeds, some orange zest, and green onions. Enjoy!

Notes

1.) Feel free to replace tofu with a soy-free tofu option, or vegan chicken.
2.) You can either cook your broccoli with the tofu and orange sauce in the same wok/pan which I prefer, or for a cleaner look, steam your broccoli separately.
3.) Freshly squeezed orange juice is best, which should only use 1-2 oranges depending on size, but if you have orange juice in your fridge, that works amazing, you can’t really tell the difference.
4.) You can use fresh broccoli as well, but I prefer frozen as it’s much easier and cheaper.
5.) I recommend agave as it has a low glycemic index, however, if you have none, you can use maple syrup in it’s place.
