Cuisine American
- 1 16 oz Package of Tofu Pressed
- Lettuce
- Onion
- Tomato
- Vegan Mayo
- Sour Dough Bread Slices
For the Marinade:
- 1/4 Cup of Soy Sauce
- 3 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup
- 2.5 Teaspoons of Liquid Smoke
- 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Smoked Paprika
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Black Pepper
Press your tofu if it isn’t already pressed and slice your tofu into strips.
Mix all marinade ingredients and marinate your tofu for a minimum of 1 hour. The longer you marinate the better. I like to marinate overnight whenever I can - once you try it marinated overnight you never want to go back.
Bake on parchment paper at 400 Degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes flipping the tofu halfway and brushing with leftover marinade. Both sides of the tofu should be crisp to the touch. You may need to keep flipping as you see one side get crisped up. Keep a close eye on these and don't let them burn.
Once done, toast sour dough bread, and add Mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and your tofu bacon strips. Enjoy!
